The beach villas, individual wooden bungalows located on the beach with an incomparable view of the ocean, complement the natural beauty to create a tranquil experience. 153 of the 273 rooms are beach villas, of which 120 are jacuzzi beach villas. Jacuzzi beach villas comprise a more spacious bedroom and a jacuzzi for two, ideal for sharing under the stars.

Herathera was subleased to Yacht Tours Maldives Pvt Ltd on 1st June 2008. However, the sublease agreement was terminated after a mutual agreement.

MTDC has since taken over operations and tendered for contracting management of the resort. Thai brand Onyx Hospitality was awarded the management contract of Herathera on 31st October 2010.
